How to deal with hair loss?

Hair is an attractive feature for women and men alike. It makes you feel more self-confident and gives your face the right exposure. Unfortunately, there are more and more patients suffering from hair loss. We do not speak of hair loss when you find a few hairs on your brush, as everyone loses statistically around 150-200 hairs every day. However, if you lose huge volumes of hair, you have two options to choose from. You can either get used to it, or you can start the right fight.

Causes and types of balding
Balding is a problem affecting many women and men. Unfortunately, the reasons are not the same for everyone. On the contrary, there are numerous causes of balding, and therefore the actual cause has to be diagnosed at the outset. Although hair loss can be only temporary (e.g. during stress), it often turns out that addition to an aesthetic issue, we are also dealing with significant nutrient deficiencies in the body, or even with a progressing illness. Androgenetic alopecia is a condition which is strongly related to hair loss. It mainly affects men, yet it can also appear in women, albeit at a significantly later age. Androgenetic balding is genetically conditioned, and a biopsy must be carried out in order to get the right diagnosis. Another frequent disease is alopecia areata. It usually has an inflammatory background and typically affects young people. The risk group consists of men and women equally. Alopecia areata is often associated with other conditions as well, such as nail problems, or even cataract. Patients are also exposed to the risk of development of other autoimmune diseases, such as thyroid problems, atopic dermatitis, or vitiligo. Hair loss can also occur after childbirth. Hair loss after pregnancy affects almost every woman who has given birth, as it is caused by hormonal changes, specifically by increasing estrogen levels. It is usually a transient condition, yet in some cases it can be extended, becoming a serious nuisance.

Hair loss therapy
Generally, scalp mesotherapy is recommended for hair loss and thin hair. During this treatment, patient receives platelet rich plasma (PRP) at the balding spots. The preparation is obtained directly from the patient, on the basis of his/her own blood. Through the right processing, an autologic plasma concentrate is isolated, containing platelets suspended in plasma. This type of preparation contains a lot of active substances, including growth factors that stimulate hair follicles to grow. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) mesotherapy for hair loss is among the safest and at the same time most effective methods of rebuilding lost hair.

Another method applied in cases of hair loss is the MICRO & NANOFAT technology in which fat is transplanted to thinning hair areas; like the platelet rich plasma, this fat is also obtained from the patient him- or herself. High concentration of stem cells in the fat tissue improves blood circulation in the scalp and impacts the follicles, making the hair grow thicker and stronger.

Hair loss vs. thyroid
Thyroid diseases, such as hyperthyroidism, can also frequently lead to hair loss. As a result of wrong thyroxin concentration, the processes occurring in hair follicles slow down, which stops growth and weakens the hair. At our Clinic, we also have patients experiencing hair loss related to Hashimoto disease. This disease involves hypothyroidism and is recognized among the most common autoimmune diseases. In such case, we recommend a combination of topical treatments and the right diet. This significantly increases the treatment efficiency, and the effects last longer.

Hair loss vs. chemotherapy
Hair loss after chemotherapy affects more than 65% of all patients. It is another source of stress and mental burden for people struggling with cancer. Fortunately, this is a reversible condition, and the hair starts regrowing several months after chemotherapy. This process can be further accelerated by taking such supplements as HAIRMAX or HAIR PLUS. They deliver the necessary nutrients and stimulate hair growth.
