Hyaluronic acid for summer – what can be improved with it and what is better left untouched?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a compound that naturally occurs in the human body. It is responsible, among other things, for skin hydration and elasticity. HA has the ability to bind water. As a result, it swells, creates volume, and provides structural support. Due to its properties, it is widely used in aesthetic medicine. At Dr Parda Clinic in Piaseczno, we use it in various procedures throughout the year. Find out which hyaluronic acid treatments we offer for the summer season.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a chemical compound naturally present in the human body, mainly in the skin. HA can bind water in an amount 1000–4000 times greater than its own mass. Thanks to this, our skin remains properly moisturized, elastic, and firm. Aging and sun exposure reduce the skin's HA production, leading to dryness, the appearance of wrinkles, and loss of volume. Aesthetic medicine treatments using hyaluronic acid aim to counteract these processes.
Properties of hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid has gained popularity as a filler due to its:
- relatively easy application method;
- immediate and repeatable effects;
- low risk of allergic reaction;
- quick recovery period.
Treatments with HA, when performed by an experienced physician, are safe. In rare cases, complications may occur, such as vascular occlusion, which can lead to skin necrosis or blindness.
It is worth noting that the results of hyaluronic acid procedures are reversible through the use of hyaluronidase. This enzyme allows for aesthetic correction and the treatment of complications.
Hyaluronic acid in aesthetic medicine
Hyaluronic acid is commonly used by aesthetic medicine practitioners. It serves to moisturize the skin, fill wrinkles and folds, and enhance facial volume and contour. It is also used in lip augmentation and shaping. HA enables non-surgical nose correction as well.
The filler is also used for rejuvenating the skin of the neck, hands, and other body areas, including intimate zones. Many of these HA procedures are available at Dr Parda Clinic in Warsaw.
Hyaluronic acid treatments with facial ultrasound
In our clinic, all hyaluronic acid treatments are preceded by facial ultrasound examination. Using ultrasound, we can visualize the vascularization of the treatment area and detect any residual filler from past procedures. This minimizes the risk of complications.
Ultrasound also allows us to apply HA with precision and efficiency. This supports our goal of achieving natural-looking results.
We also use this "third eye" when treating complications in patients who come to us after procedures performed elsewhere. Thanks to ultrasound, we can inject hyaluronidase precisely where the HA has been deposited, which helps reduce the required dosage and avoid side effects.
Hyaluronic acid mesotherapy for summer
Hyaluronic acid is used year-round. We especially recommend mesotherapy with HA during the summer and winter months, when at-home hydration may be insufficient. Mesotherapy involves injecting the skin to deliver the product directly to where it is needed. The micro-punctures enhance absorption and stimulate regeneration. After mesotherapy with HA, the skin becomes hydrated, nourished, and firmer. Depending on the product used, it may also help fill fine lines.
Lip contouring at Dr Parda Warsaw
Another popular treatment at our clinic is lip contouring with hyaluronic acid. This procedure, often referred to as lip augmentation, enhances lip shape and reduces signs of aging. At Dr Parda, the use of ultrasound ensures minimal risk of complications and natural-looking results. In some cases, we may recommend removing previous HA deposits before performing the procedure.
Non-surgical nose correction with HA
Our clinic also offers non-surgical nose correction using HA. This procedure is suitable for patients who cannot or do not wish to undergo surgical rhinoplasty. HA can improve small imperfections such as lifting a drooping nasal tip, smoothing out a bump, or correcting slight asymmetries. These treatments provide aesthetically pleasing results.
However, it’s important to note that nasal blood vessels do not always follow a textbook pattern. Therefore, procedures in this area carry a higher risk of complications, including irreversible ones such as blindness. For this reason, at Dr Parda Piaseczno, we always check nasal vascularization using ultrasound. Sometimes, even with the “third eye” available, we advise against the procedure.
