How to stimulate skin regeneration processes?

If you are struggling with the first signs of photoaging and want to stimulate skin regeneration processes in a natural way, you should undergo a micro-puncture procedure with e.g. Dermapen. Fractional micro-puncturing is an innovative procedure which involves mechanical puncturing of the skin with small needles that stimulate regeneration of collagen and elastin fibers. Thanks to numerous punctures, the doctor can apply properly selected preparations/medications to the skin.

What does a Dermapen device look like?

This modern device is equipped with disposable cartridges that consist of twelve 33G molybdenum needles. The procedure can be performed even on people who are allergic to metals, as there is neither chromium nor nickel in the needles. The needles are extremely thin yet strong, which contributes to significant improvement in patient comfort during the procedure. The doctor performing the procedure can choose needles ranging from 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm, so the injection depth can be precisely adjusted to each patient.

On what parts of the body can the procedure be performed?
- face (even around the eyes and mouth),

- neck,

- decolletage,

- abdomen,

- buttocks,

- thighs,

- scalp.

What are the indications for fractional micro-puncture?
- shallow discoloration,

- hair loss,

- signs of photoaging,

- wrinkles,

- acne scars,

- stretch marks,

- flabby and thin skin.

Before, during and after the procedure – what to be prepared for?

Prior to the procedure, the patient is consulted by an anesthetist who selects the appropriate treatment protocol, depending on skin needs. An anesthetic ointment is applied on the treated area. The treatment itself, which lasts from 30 to 40 minutes, consists in performing a series of micro-punctures, the depth of which changes during the procedure. In this way, thanks to applying the appropriate preparation to the treated area, we can be sure that it will be accurately distributed. During the treatment, there may be visible even reddening of the skin as well as spot bleeding and micro-tears. Swelling and redness may persist for several days; during this time, it is advisable to refrain from excessive exposure to sunlight.

What are the effects of the micro-puncture procedure?
- visible reduction of wrinkles,

- improvement in skin density elasticity, and firmness,

- improvement of skin nutrition,

- increased stimulation of collagen production,

- unification of skin tone,

- reduction in the appearance of stretch marks and scars.

Who should not undergo the micro-puncture procedure?
- pregnant women,

- breastfeeding women,

- people with viral or bacterial dermatitis.
