STOP fibromas

There is a whole group of skin imperfections that cause concern in patients, including fibromas, which are nodular growths occurring in various areas of the body. Fibromas usually do not undergo malignant transformations. However, many patients choose to remove them mainly for aesthetic and practical reasons.

Are Fibromas Dangerous to Health?
Fibromas are considered benign tumors. They originate from connective tissue and form due to excessive proliferation of its cells in a small area of the skin. In the vast majority of cases, fibromas are not dangerous to health and do not give malignant metastases. Therefore, there is no need to fear them. However, patients often choose to remove them for aesthetic reasons, especially if they are in a visible place.

What Types of Fibromas Can Be Distinguished?
Fibromas can be divided into soft and hard types. The former are skin changes that take the form of several millimeter-sized nodules. They can appear either individually or in larger groups. They are most commonly found on the face, neck, back, nape, and underarms. They are also often present on the eyelids. Besides causing aesthetic discomfort, they do not produce any symptoms such as itching, bleeding, or pain. However, inflammation may occur in them due to frequent rubbing. The tendency to develop soft fibromas is genetic and increases with age. Many women notice their increase during pregnancy, influenced by hormonal changes. Their occurrence is also more common among people with diabetes and obesity. Diagnosis and assessment of changes require medical diagnosis. Hard fibromas, on the other hand, are located under the skin and can be felt through it as a nodule of varying size. Usually, the area where they occur differs in color, taking on a light brown to reddish-brown hue. Hard fibromas can be painful to touch and may cause itching. A characteristic feature is also their contraction and protrusion during pressure, which can be observed independently. Hard fibromas are most often located on the lower limbs. They can also occur in the abdominal and buttock areas. The removal of hard fibromas usually requires traditional surgical excision. Soft fibromas can be more easily removed, as this can be done through an aesthetic medicine procedure using devices like PLASMAGE.

PLASMAGE for Fibromas - Mechanism of Action and Procedure
PLASMAGE, an innovative plasma generator, allows for the non-invasive removal of fibromas, as it only acts in the epidermal area, without affecting the deeper layers of the skin. During the device's operation, the phenomenon of an electrical arc occurs, generating high temperatures that cause the changes to evaporate. PLASMAGE acts specifically on the targeted change, ensuring that the surrounding tissues remain unaffected. The procedure can thus be performed even on very delicate body parts, thus eliminating fibromas on the eyelids or neck skin. The efficacy of this method is comparable to surgical procedures, but it is much less invasive and safer. The patient's skin recovers much faster after the procedure, and no scars or unsightly traces of intervention remain.

Unfortunately, by nature, fibromas tend to recur, necessitating a subsequent visit. Plasmage treatments last a few minutes and are conducted under infiltrative anesthesia for patient comfort. A special medical smoke evacuator absorbs evaporated structures.
