Platelets are a naturally occurring component of blood and play an important role in tissue healing and regeneration. The so-called vampire facelift is a non-surgical procedure performed without a scalpel, which involves injecting the patient with her own blood – platelet-rich plasma (PRP – Platelet-Rich Plasma), a low-volume concentrate containing several times more platelets than baseline blood.
