Masked beauty - how to deal with "mask" and "maskitis"

Masks used during pandemic protect our health, but at the same time can cause skin problems, which were spotted by Dr. Dennis Gross - a renowned dermatologist from New York. The first is known as "maskne" – it is a form od acne appearing around the mouth and on the chin, which most often attacks people with oily and acne-prone skin. The second phenomenon, which is painful and dry areas of skin under the mask combined with an itchy rash and redness, is called "maskitis". People prone to skin inflammations are more likely to suffer from this problem. Proper diagnosis of the type of skin disease is crucial for its treatment, because the use of acne products for rash and dry skin will only aggravate the symptoms. Therefore, in the case of "maskitis", one should use soothing products, preferably those containing niacinamide. We can also support our skin with a diet rich in vitamin B3, which can be found, among others, in peanuts, sea fish, tomatoes, onions and legumes.
