Treatment of excessive forehead and scalp sweating

Excessive sweat production can be a lifelong condition. Many people experience serious issues caused by this problem in their daily lives. You can feel uncomfortable when your forehead is constantly covered with drops of sweat, particularly in social situations or during business encounters. Sweat makes your forehead look unpleasantly shiny and can deposit in skin pores, which get clogged and blackheads may appear. Patients experiencing this condition can be treated for excessive forehead and scalp sweating. We use botox for this purpose at our Clinic.

Botox can be used for various reasons in hyperhidrosis treatment. This treatment is chosen primarily by those patients whose everyday lives are disrupted by excessive sweating. Appearance often plays a role here, as patients can feel less self-confident, lack self-acceptance and experience a general deterioration of the quality of life. Treatment is always preceded by an appointment at a doctor, who will determine any possible contraindications that could lead to a negative response of the body. On the day of the treatment, the patient will be prepared. Injection spots are determined with the Minor’s test, where iodine and then starch is applied on the skin. Darker stains appear at the locations of excessive sweat gland activity. Therefore, the doctor can apply botox precisely where it is needed.

Botox treatment of hyperhidrosis has many advantages. First of all, it reduces the volume of produced sweat, thus improving the level of comfort and self-confidence in a patient. The treatment is almost painless with the use of topical anesthetic and ice cooling of the injection locations. Results emerge immediately after the treatment and continue for 6 to 12 months. The actual duration depends on the patient’s individual characteristics. Botox is particularly recommended for localized excessive sweating, which tends to appear around the forehead and/or scalp. However, this treatment is also possible in other areas of the body.
