Rosacea is a chronic condition manifested by inflammation of the facial skin. It mainly affects the central areas of the face, causing erythema and telangiectasia. It is often accompanied by subcutaneous papules and pustules, as well as persistent itching and burning of the skin. The direct cause of rosacea is broken and dilated blood vessels.
Unlike acne vulgaris, which usually appears during adolescence, rosacea mainly affects adults over the age of 25. The treatment of rosacea also requires very different methods than those used in acne vulgaris. First of all, it is worth consulting a dermatologist, who will assess the condition of the skin and recommend appropriate topical preparations or oral antibiotics. In more difficult forms of rosacea, the proposed therapy may prove ineffective.
If conventional treatment does not bring the expected results, it is worth considering solutions from the field of aesthetic medicine. Specialist procedures are able to effectively reduce the symptoms of rosacea. One of the most effective methods of treating erythema and dilated capillaries is the so-called vascular laser.
The WAN-TECH laser used in our Clinic is a highly effective option for the treatment of facial telangiectasia and also telangiectasia of the lower limbs. It not only provides excellent results, but is also safe. The risk of complications is reduced to a minimum. In addition, due to the complexity of its design, the same laser can also be used to treat hyperpigmentation and skin laxity (Genesis procedure).
The laser works by using a beam of light which, upon penetrating the blood vessels, is absorbed by the haemoglobin they contain. As a result, the vessel is heated and closed. The effect is noticeable after the first treatment, although several sessions are recommended in order to achieve complete resolution of vascular concerns.
