Plasmage - a way to deal with hooded eyes without a scalpel

Hooded eyes are a natural effect of aging processes. Some people experience this problem sooner, others later, which is mainly correlated with their individual predispositions and the skin care used around the eyes. Hooded eyes can be corrected through plastic surgery of eyelids. However, many people are concerned about complications after surgery, and therefore most people will only consider it as a last resort. Fortunately, there are treatments available to aesthetic medicine which do not require so much intervention. Plasma treatment is a method capable of significantly improving the appearance of eyelids.

Plasma in aesthetic medicine
Plasma means ionized matter, in a state similar to gas. It is formed as a result of electric discharges; therefore, you can usually notice it during a thunderstorm. This occurrence has been used in aesthetic medicine, mainly in anti-aging therapies. Plasma is particularly useful in sensitive, hardly accessible areas, such as eyelids. Plasma produces high temperature and its impact is superficial and isolated - it works on the very spot which is the target of treatment. It does not damage the surrounding tissue or deeper skin layers.
Energy of the plasma causes shallow damage to the cuticle, causing water to evaporate. As a result of that process, tissues are stimulated to synthesize collagen, while the existing fibers contract, making the skin look smoother, adding tension and reducing tiny wrinkles.

Innovative plasma generator
At Dr Parda Aesthetic Medicine Clinic, hooded eyes are treated with Plasmage, a machine from BRERA, Italy. It is one of the most advanced plasma generators used in procedures employing this technology. Plexr and Jett Plasma were the solutions available earlier on the Polish market. Plasmage is the only device with the fractioning and adjustment options, so that energy intensity can be matched to the specific patient's exact needs. The advantage Plasmaga has over competitive systems is that it does not generate a flow of electric current through the body, making the procedures available even for people with electronic implants, including pacemakers.

Procedure and effects
This treatment is an alternative for surgery, as it lifts the eyelids and mitigates the hooding problem. It can be applied to the lower or the upper lid. The procedure takes place with full eyelid mobility. To make the patient feel more comfortable, topical anesthetic is used. Duration of a single session depends on the condition of the eyelids. The procedure is almost completely safe, without any risk of complications. Only redness with small scabs appear on the skin after the treatment. Healing usually takes 5 to 7 days. Normal activity is allowed during that time, yet we always recommend our patients to try to relax as much as possible during that time, avoiding intense physical effort. The skin will regenerate faster when the whole body is relaxed.
Plasma technology treatments are very popular, as they are non-invasive and very safe for the eyes. They are often recommended as an alternative for the traditional blepharoplasty. The effects can be noticed immediately, usually continuing up to two years after a series of 2-3 treatments.
