Skin resurfacing & remodeling with eCO2 laser

Does your skin seem dry after the summer? Or perhaps has it lost its firmness and elasticity? Have you noticed freckles or even unsightly spots? If so, this means that your skin undergoes photoaging processes, which can make you look older. Thus, if you want your skin to look young and radiant, you should visit the Dr. Parda Aesthetic Medicine Clinic. One of the most popular treatments at Dr. Parda's in the autumn season is a comprehensive procedure that uses the effective fractional eCO2 laser, which will allow your skin to regenerate naturally after exposure to excessive sunlight. With fractional laser, your skin will become smooth, minor discoloration and wrinkles will be reduced, and overall skin texture and tone will be improved, allowing you to enjoy a healthy skin that will be prepared for the winter.

How to prevent skin photoaging?

The skin undergoes photoaging due to overexposure to the sunlight without adequate protection like UV filters. Regular exposure to the sun has negative effects on skin tissue, because abnormal elastin fibers accumulate and collagen fibers become destroyed at the same time, so the skin becomes dry and rough and begins to show fine lines and wrinkles – a much more aggressive process than natural aging. Photoaging can be prevented by applying sunscreen with a high SPF factor, and by using protective accessories like hats, caps, and appropriate clothing. It is worth noting that the process of photoaging is irreversible, but you can reduce its signs. It is worth making an appointment with Dr. Parda, who will suggest treatments to revitalize the skin and restore its proper structure.

Who should benefit from CO2 laser treatment?

- people with enlarged pores,

- people with signs of skin photoaging,

- people with stretch marks,

- people with visible post-sun, hormonal, drug-induced or post-inflammatory discoloration;

- people with scars,

- people with flabby skin on the face, abdomen, etc.

What does the laser procedure look like?

Fractional eCO2 laser is guided to the area to be treated and switched on to "punch" the skin leading to micro-damage but leaving the skin surface in-between intact. This is where the healing process begins, and skin regeneration takes place. These micro-punctures heal very quickly, so there are no postoperative complications. Thanks to the laser treatment, collagen remodeling occurs, which leads to an increase in skin firmness and elasticity. The advantage of treatment with eCO2 laser is the continuous improvement in the appearance of the skin, because the formation of new collagen takes from 3 to even 6 months.

Are there any contraindications to the procedure?

In fact, all patients with the above-mentioned skin problems will qualify for the eCO2 laser treatment. Certainly, the healing time of micro-punctures will be faster in patients with thicker and well-moisturized skin. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should resign from the procedure. Also, the procedure is not recommended for oncological patients, people with chronic dermatoses, such as psoriasis, or those who use topical or oral retinoids. The laser procedure should also not be performed in individuals with hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, or other systemic diseases.

When will the effects appear and how do I maintain them?

The first effects after the eCO2 treatment may appear as soon as about 3 days after the procedure. Complete healing usually takes about 7 or 10 days, depending on the intensity of the laser. You will see final results after about 6 months, when enough collagen has been produced. If you want to get the best effects possible, the treatment should be repeated 2 to 4 times with a break in length depending on the intensity of the previous treatment.
